Christopher Lee Kennedy
Medium: Collaborative Partnership and Intervention
Christopher Lee Kennedy works with a variety mediums as far reaching as open source technologies to the ancient craft of knitting. Through his art and collaborative projects, Mr. Kennedy seeks to explore the possibility for magic and synchronous forces of experiential learning potential inherent in the natural world and its fusion with interventionist social agency. Art projects and collaborative partnerships with communities of practice and students that extend the realm of experiential education into possibility for political and human agency through a fusion of intervention and art into the routines and patterns of the every day. His works are wholly place and time based, using the community in which participants are situated to revision patterns that are destructive to our collective ecology here on the earth amid the vast systems of biota and natural processes that makeup that local ecology. Robotic geese, recycled knitting, rooftop gardens, mobile urban composters, talking trees, mythic animals; each project re-mythologizes our collective role in the varied urban and natural ecosystems we live in to craft a universal empathy for the sacred wild, the diverse populations of organism that inhabits that space and their interpenetration.
